While I proudly was able to put out the trip report in its entirety this time, I figured I'd break it up by day into different posts so you have a natural pause if you need a break. See below for each individual section.

Introduction: Flight/hotel bookings
Shabbos in Denver: Shabbos at the in-laws
Day 1: Getting to Maui, checking in to Hyatt Regency Maui
Day 2: Sunrise at Haleakala, Acid War Zone Hike, Nakalele Blowhole, Olivine Pools
Day 3: Asarah b'Teves
Day 4: Road to Hana
Day 5 - End of Trip: Checking out and a week in DEN

Nice TR.  I thought you can get free kosher food at some Centurion Lounges.  Am I mistaken about that?
Thanks, don't know. I never heard that before.
Awesome TR! Thanks for sharing!
Very impressive TR. DDMS worthy IMO :)
Very detailed
Thanks, hehe that's very nice of you.

I think it was the one in Vegas, and the don't offer it anymore IIRC.

I was in Vegas centurion and there was no designated kosher food to be gotten.

 Awesome TR!
I have to disagree about the convertible thought. When the top is down you have a much greater field of sight, and I found it hard to see the scenery as well when the top was up. To each his own.
My biggest fear of going to Maui is that I will be constantly comparing it to Kauai, which we absolutely fell in love with. From your TR, I get the feeling that I would love Maui too.
Thanks for taking the time to write it up.

The book speaks of a hike from here to an even more secluded waterfall, but the only thing that slightly resembled a path through the brush was right next to this sign, so we headed back to the car.

Great TR!

Just FYI (in case others get scared off too), the hike and falls beyond that sign were really great. The hike to it is a bit more strenuous than some of the others on RTH, but well worth it IMO. It takes you farther up the stream, and you walk along this man-made ditch (I assume it's an aqueduct to redirect the water for some reason) and over a viaduct, to the pool/falls.

Here's the aqueduct you walk next to and the viaduct you have to walk across. I stripped the audio, so you won't hear anything.
[ Invalid YouTube link ]

Aqueduct tunnel leading to the pool/falls. I suppose you could try walking through it if you want, but we hiked over the tunnel to get to the pool.

The falls and pool at the end.

I take that as a compliment, even though I have to disagree with @Yehuda regarding the back side of both West Maui and TRTH. I thoroughly enjoyed both.

WOW!!!! Thank you for sharing. That looks like an awesome hike and boy those falls must be entirely secluded.

Thanks for your kind words. I'm very glad you had time to read through it, despite your busy schedule. It's all about the pics I've learned.
