Just keep in mind that their electric rates are sky high.

Just keep in mind that their electric rates are sky high.

But not the teaser rate. So if you file to change a few days after you join their program, you should get the bonus miles, and be able to get out before they fleece you.

Not worth it - they jack up your rates right afte the promotional period and make it so you can't transfer out before they've at least hit you with a few months of large bills. Scam

But if you do it in the winter, those rates don't matter as much.

Just signed up for the energy plus 25000 United bonus...I'll update you in two months if this is worth it...just got my electic bill today ( manhattan) and Coned is charging 7.7 cents per kwh supply. Hopefully energy plus won't jack it up too high in the next two months

I did this last year for 15k UA miles in Nj. Switched out after 2 months only cost me about 30 dollars extra so not to bad. Gonna churn now under wife's name for AA miles.

When you switched out, how did you make sure you were back on with coned? Was it immediate?

I signed up with another company that had good rates and they did it for me. I got a confirmation email etc right away.

FYI...Just called energy plus and it appears that their introductory rate is 14.8 cents per kwh. That is almost double my 7.7 cent rate from Coned which was on the bill I received a few days ago.

Hopefully the 25,000 miles will post promptly...

I switched to them last year for 15K united.
They promised me a variable rate of 10.5 (JCP&L is 11.7)
The second month I called to find out my new rate & they would not tell it to me for love or money!
They said its an "Average Market Rate" b.s. in other words
When I got my bill it was 16.77!
I called and threw a fit. They sent me a check for the difference and gave me a "locked in Business rate" of 9.5 for 6 months
When I tried to switch out JCP&L told me they locked me in for 3 Months!
So I had to wait to leave!

I made only 15k UA. wasn't worth the hassle.
There is an offer for 25k UA out there somewhere.
Now that... Just Maybe...  ;) :-[ :-[

i signed up with them thinking that at least I'll be paying a drop under jcp&l and also get the bonus points. When I looked at my bill several months later I saw that they were about 2 cents more than jcp&l. needless to say it's not worth the points.
