I have worked for an esco before, and it really depends on the company, you go with. you can keep track of prices online and compare month by month, for ny/nj area this link http://www3.dps.state.ny.us/P/PTCNY.nsf   gives you the most up to date prices for all the esco's and local utilities if you stay on top of it you most prob. will save some money be carful not to lock into rates unlessyouve been following prices and know your getting a good deal

I guess I'll stay away. This could be useful if someone has an empty app. they are not renting they can just transfer to EP and cancel out after 2 mo.

I am embarrassed to say that I signed up for this and it was a huge mistake. Their rates were consistently higher than ConEd and they took their sweet time switching me back to coned. I would go to coned's web page and check their recent rates and compare to energy plus rates.

I would not do this offer unless you are using a smaller regional energy company and energyplus rates are competitive.

The extra money spent was not worth the miles?
I keep on getting offers from them, just got an offer for 10K, as well as one on my wife' s name.

Not when you are using 1400 KW a month and they charge 6 cents more per Kilowatt than the competition. That begins to become a losing proposition very quickly, no matter how many points they give you.

Well... that depends on how quickly the signup bonus posts into the AA account. And also how quickly you can get out of EP after that bonus came in. :)

Exactly - they don't let you go that quickly "I'm sorry sir, we will need to notify ConEd and do x,y and z, and it will take at least a billing cycle or two..."

If you want to take your chances and do the deal, you certainly can. Maybe you'll make out better than I did (especially now that you know their rates are higher and you need to get out), but don't complain if it bacvkfires on you...you were warned!!!  :-)

jetblue partnership with energy plus
« Reply #39 on: April 12, 2011, 11:29:15 AM »
jetblue was offering 10,000 trueblue points (think it is less now) to switch your energy provider to energy plus. i did it bec their rates were a drop less than ConEd.  a few months later they more than doubled their rates without telling me and it took me a few months to realize why my energy bill was so expensive. it cost me over a thousand dollars. watch out
