If anyone was having doubts about not switching to Energy Plus (there is not that much response in this thread of people who actually switched and were ripped off) read here.
Pretty scary stuff

also see here for the rates for all ESCO's in NY. Energy Plus was .17 c/kwh and Con ed was .0999. Almost double.

Anyone know what "ESCO Referral 0" means? Why isn't there any KWH posted for these guys?

What's even scarier is that CON-ED (what an ironic name they have) is a rip-off in its own right.

Compare it to other areas in the country and you'll see that electricity in NYC is very expensive.

There you go! And CLE probably isn't the cheapest market either.

There is no reason we shouldn't have cheaper electricity in NY, both supply and delivery costs should go down due to economies of scale.

Delivery costs in NY are a sham, if CE was managed properly those costs would be much lower IMHO.

Thanks, I completed two billing cycles still no miles, I want to cancel cuz they are ripping me off. I will call them tomorrow and find out the situation

Mine showed up at the end of two billing cycles. But I called before the end of the second cycle to cancel effective the third month and they offered me lower rates. I figured I'd try that for a month or two and then switch back. But the rates have averaged basicalyl what ConEd seems to be charging so I've stuck with it.

Just keep an eye out for your bill, it's only a matter of time before they jack your rates up...

If you get the miles in two months and you remember to cancel and they cancel quickly for you (which I am sure they will because it is in their best interest)

Just got my first bill. Rate was slightly lower than my regular JCP&L rate. Just one more month and I'm out...
