Can you pool a family's points together and then transfer everything into 1 SQ account?
Tsk Tsk Dan, I'd think by now you knew how to use Google  :)

Have you done it?
Yes

Family Pooling allows you to directly pool your Points or Points and Status Credits to an eligible family member living at the same home address. https://www.velocityfrequentflyer.com/content/ProgramBenefits/TermsConditions/#pooling

You can transfer your Velocity Points from your Membership Account to the Account of eligible family https://www.velocityfrequentflyer.com/content/ProgramBenefits/TermsConditions/#transfers

Why do they still restrict the program to people with an AU address :(
Save your time, I don't answer PM. Post it in the forum and a dedicated DDF'er will get back to you as soon as possible.

The advantage of pooling over transferring:
You can also pool status credits, but you can't transfer them.

Got overly excited and booked 2 trips. unfortunately I missed the free cancellation period and the cancellation fee is higher than the ticket price. any suggestions on what should I do in that case?

2x SYD to LAX Apr 27th - Virgin Australia
2x SYD to LAX Sep 4th - Virgin Australia
