does missing a flight on purpose count? I missed my flight coming from toronto for a wedding there bc my friends were driving and stopping at niagra falls and I wanted to go too and had no way of getting back to toronto for my flight.

I missed a flight alright.

AirTran ATL-JFK Friday morning 7am Labor Day weekend the night after a friends wedding. Probably about 12 years ago IIRC. Got to the airport an hour before the flight. Don't think we (was with a friend) even had luggage but there was a huuuuuge line at security. Missed the flight then went standby all day and couldn't get on any flights.

We were so hungry. Got picked up at the airport with some pizza and already had accommodations for Shabbos. Love that southern hospitality!

Ended up spending Shabbos by the Sheva brachos. Had a great time. Although my wife and only child at the time were not too happy (mostly the wife).

I am a notorious flight misser. I have missed about 15 flights. The best ? EL AL glitch, I hold a israeli passport as well and noticed it was expiring so I went to misrad hapnim day of flight in jerusalem and pushed them to renew on spot and they said show us flight which I did except I nearly fainted when I realized my flight was that day but 12:30AM or such FML I got the passport and got my israeli trip extended by 2 weeks

On the way to the 2nd flight.. we were in chevron, woke up a bit late.. the friend driving to airport had a rented volvo and we did like 115 miles per hour till we hit traffic in the yarkon? area and he used the "shabbat lane" and we drove with blinkers in the service lane for 20 minutes and got to airport like 1 hour before flight :)

I nearly missed the MIA - ATL leg to hawaii on the delta fare glitch

Before my global entry days I missed a flight on one of my day trips from den-las. There was snow that morning (mid-may) which slowed us down. Then we walked into the terminal and security was a half hour (at 6:30 on a Sunday morning!). We got to the gate 3 minutes before departure but the plane had already pushed back. What's funny is that we weren't the only ones to miss that flight. After a letter to WN we got a$100 voucher.

Missed a flight once (on my last birthday!) thanks to 3 Uber drivers cancelling on me  :-[
Delta moved me from JFK to the next flight from LGA and charged me $50.

I have a flight from TLV to JFK via Rome, and realized my connection is just an hour. I really want to spend more time in Italy, so am wondering if I ''miss'' my connection flight, will I have the option of choosing a much later flight without any penalties?? Anyone have any experience like that? THANX!

I've missed one I tried to catch after Shabbat I couldn't believe how accommodating they were, they just put me on a flight a few minutes later with another airline.

Missed the 45 minute luggage check in cutoff by 3 minutes. Screens were broken on the new flight. Between me and my wife, I made $350 in UA certs from missing that flight, so it was worth it

They say if you haven't missed a flight you haven't flown enough...

I've missed 4 so far:

- HA LIH-HNL-KOA, due to a flat tire (really :D). Went on standby for the next pair of flights and made Shabbos (two days of it) in the nick of time.

- AS YEG-SEA-JFK, due to the clerk at the RV return insisting on 17 copies of everything and oblivious to the fact that I need to. leave. NOW. Ended up getting refunded by AS and booked AC YEG-YYZ-LGA instead.

- SK OSL-TRD-BOO, due to not being as big a maniac as Dan. Got put on the direct OSL-TRD instead while Dan got to add TRD and a rare 737-600 to his lists.

- AA LGA-XNA, due to missing the baggage cutoff by 2 minutes. Took the afternoon flight instead.
