on the bmi site im still silver so i imagine everyone else is still silver until the change is implemented in the system however long that will take. So if you havent yet screenshot now is the time and then follow the advice about getting matched. I cant imagine whats going to happen on the main DD site. People are going to be all sorts of confused and begging to be "adviced" by dan

Hi Dan,
I signed up trough the link you posted to gain silver status with BMI. I flew yesterday on US Airways from Los Angeles to NY and recieved my two free bags and priority check in etc. However , this morning I recieved an email from BMI stating the following:

Dear Chaya
We're pleased to see that you recently joined our Diamond Club frequent flyer programme. However, I'm writing to you because unfortunately the link you used to join was an exclusive by invitation only offer and as noted in our terms and conditions was non transferable.
Regrettably, we will not be honouring the Silver status, and over the next few days your account will be downgraded to Blue status. Our decision is final, and we won't be entering into any further correspondence on this. On a positive note though, our frequent flyer programme is one of the most generous programmes around, and you only need to earn 16,000 membership status miles to earn a Silver membership. When you fly with us, or any of the Star Alliance airlines, you'll reach Silver status in no time at all. You'll also have access to all our offers and promotions, as well as being the first to hear about our great sale fares. We hope you'll still enjoy the benefits of your Diamond Club membership.

I had call them the day I signed up, they said then, it would take about 10-15 days to receive.

so far they have all been different. one said Dear Mr xxxxxx the other just Dear xxxxx, another skipped the line all together and the other one was Dear Chaya.

my friends i may have some good news....i logged into my original bmi silver account opened the first time around and its still silver until october 2011! so you may want to check that and get a status match off that...

i also opened a new regular bmi blue account w/ the 1k miles offer and will call now and try and merge my new bmi silver slated for closure into it...perhaps the new club # will throw off the system and retain silver status....your thoughts?
