Propane refill in Lakewood
« on: February 24, 2016, 02:50:53 PM »
Where is the cheapest place to refill (not exchange) a grill propane tank in Lakewood? Was using BJs, but my membership is expiring and I don't plan on renewing. Thanks.

Dont do exchange. You end up with someone else's crappy tank.

On second thought, if you don't like your tank, try an exchange.

I used to think that way, too cuz my Dad put that in my head. Then I started to go to Home Depot and realized I was overpaying all that time. And their tanks are just fine.

I'm confused. What are you saying, that it's worth it to exchange or to refill?

Cheaper to refill but if you exchange the tanks are just fine.
"LESS IS MORE" It is the cumulative effect that kills deals!!! How many times do I have to say this?  >:(

Hmmmm... Maybe we're related?

Is exchange really cheaper? Or just HD is cheaper than wherever you would go for a fill?

Regardless, I now have my tank hooked up to my house gas line so no more empty tank :D

I just exchanged in walmart the other day for ~$14

So definitely cheaper than the $20 singin refill mentioned up-thread.

As opposed to just hooking up the BBQ directly?

I thought that you need to by  a special grill or parts to be able to use natural gas.

When refilling you get 25-33% more

Weigh your tank and see if they filled to capacity

Blue Rhino puts in 15 lbs, Singin puts in 20

Either way, pro tip: always have a full reserve tank to switch to if you run out mid Q
