Direct deposit required: Yes, a total of at least $500 within 60 days of account opening. Almost any ACH transfer should trigger this requirement.

Anyone else having this issue? When I enter the Offer code, it says "The Offer Code requires the Reservation Code. Please enter the Reservation Code to proceed."

No minimum balance - either $500 DD or 8 Debit purchases monthly.

Why not just take out $275, close and incur $25 fee? Easier than keeping open for 6 months and churnable in 12 rather than 18 months.

Figured it out, you have to fill out the email me a coupon first, you get the code in your email. Copy the -000 part of the code in the reservation code box, and the offer code in the offer part. But then, as I try to submit the application, it just says an error has occurred. No luck.

N00b question: how would someone who never paid taxes before (e.g. a student with no personal income) handle a 1099?
Or is it better not to do bank bonuses until he starts filing taxes?

If you have been paying for school then yoy should file since yoy can get credits..

To my understanding if you don't need to file then you have no problem. The Q is when you have to start....

So if your only income are 1099-INTs, how much can you "earn" before needing to file? Anyone want to jump in on this, or does it belong in the accountant thread?
