unlimited spending
« on: March 13, 2011, 10:04:13 AM »
does anyone know if there is any amex  and visa card that let you spend unlimited  if you wire money on first???  i used to be able to do this on amex till i got a fr and had to shut all my cards currently other cards i know ill let me prepay but i can only spend credit limit at a time so if i spend 20,000 and prepay 20,000 i have to wait 3, 4 days till  the charges arent pending then i can spend again 20,000

AMEX charge cards have no limit.
SPG AMEX lets pay as soon as the charge hits amex.com, but that can take 2 days.  But once you click pay on the amex site your credit line is avaialble immediately.

They let me prepay but then wouldn't authorize any charge in excess of the credit limit.

Business cards I know they won't, but I haven't had that problem on their consumer cards.

I don't think any card's website lets you prepay.

Not true. Most will not let you spend more then the credit card limit per day when prepaying. Also some close people down for prepaying like that...

amex is basically the only one where you can earn your way up to that...but be prepared for FR's even if you are a legit business.

Will AMEX charge card showed on credit reports? It seems mine doesn't show that. In this way, using the charge card wouldn't help build credit?

Your charge card doesn't show at all, or doesn't show a limit?

I bet it's on at least one of your other two reports. Card issuers don't always report credit lines to all three bureaus.

I always pay down my cards to less half of the cl before the statement closes bec I dont want the cl/spending ratio to be too high (on the credit report).  Is this not a concern for my charge cards?
