As I rode my quad up Pedro Volcano, 2 highway robbers suddenly jumped out of the bushes and tried to rob me at gun point.. I started handing them all my belongings and cash when suddenly two cops showed up and saved the day. Thank you Hashem.

The shliach here told me that even the locals don't travel that road alone, his wife added that the cops withdrew from that area as they became targets too.

Holy freakin smokes! Happy you are alive. I wonder what made cops be there if they officially withdrew from the area. Also, HOW DID YOU NOT KNOW THAT!!

I stopped in a village on the way up to shoot, the villagers kept saying something which I couldn't understand, I guess they were trying to warn me.

According to the cops, the villagers told them that a gringo went up alone

It reminds me of the viral video last week of a taxi driver being robbed at a red light and a Sherrif deputy seeing that the vehicle isn't moving approached the car and arrested the thug.

Sort of reminds me of these stories of the friendly man who said hello and goodbye each day to the elevator man. Story one: That elevator man was the one who remembered the friendly worker didn't say goodbye one day. They found the worker locked by mistake in the walk-in fridge. Story two: In WWII, it was an elevator man who told a friendly man the Nazis were looking for him.

I had to cut my trip short and fly back to NY for a Simcha and I havn't had a chance to return yet. I have a flight booked for Monday morning. Hope to spend pesach in Nicaragua.
