That's because it's the farthest. Are people expecting a sign they can take a picture with? There are loads of other places on earth you can walk along the equator on dry land.

Absolutely LOVE the trip report and pictures. I was wondering why you waited on the hotel though?

Our first trip is this fall. I was worried about the hotel getting booked up, so I went through the concierge service, booked with cash, and then changed to points as I accumulated them. Is that not kosher?

Thanks! I didn't wait to book the hotel. I booked it at the same time as the flights. But in general, doing what you did isn't a bad idea. I've done it before. Nothing wrong with it; some hotel chains actually suggest doing it.

Nah. I help out some friends when they need it but that's it. And many people around these parts are wayyy more knowledgable than me.

Plus, all this fun and games is over once I start work in September.
