Qatar Airways has announced that they will launch daily flights between Doha and Auckland as of December 3, 2016.

Award space is wide open with 4 seats on almost every day, only 45k AA pre-deval.

Hmm, thinking about booking. Hoping the new "super business class suites" are a reality and actually happen by then.

Not terrible idea, but at this point probably better to do apartments.

Same number of stops to get top the good places anyway.

I'm not understanding. To get to AKL via EY F a380 would be an extra stop in SYD.

Australia doesn't interest me nearly as much as New Zealand so it would technically be an extra stop +90K extra AA as its for 3 people.

New Zealand is the holy grail of natural beauty and everything awesome. Australia doesn't seem to come close in almost any category. Don't mention GBR, I'm not that much of a scuba junkie to fly across the world for that.

Would rent an RV and drive across. Wouldn't necessarily go to Australia at all though prob would end up for shabbos.

My wife is super not interested in doing this (also due to her having lived there for a bit) but I am. Wanna maybe do this together in Jan/Feb '17 if your wife is not onboard with it either?
