My wife just applied for the reg freedom last week and was approved online.. She just called in for the freedom unlimited and they said we would receive a response in 10 business days through the mail.. Does that mean she was declined? What else is there to do?

Spoke to an agent on the phone about this card. She told me its the same sign up bonus as the Freedom but she said the if I got the bonus on the freedom in the last 2 years then i wont get the bonus on this card. Is that correct? She also confirmed that you can apply over the phone or in a chase branch.

Went into my branch today and I was told if you have the freedom you can still get the bonus on the unlimited but who knows if that is true or not. Didn't apply yet .. holding off for now.

I think we can say with a fair degree of confidence that if approved, you'll get the bonus.
Who do you think you are fooling? You think you are going to pull a quick one on your Creator? Good luck with that.

I was thinking about getting the Chase Freedom Unlimited card as I found out you can get them in branches now. But, does it make more sense to sign up for this card directly with its measly sign-up bonus of $150/15,000 points or should I sign up for a card like Chase Sapphire Preferred and get a $500/50,000 point sign up bonus and then in a few months downgrade the card (assuming that's possible) so that there's no annual fee? Do any more experienced DDfers have any quick advice?

You can try for both.

Can you get an instant approval when applying for Freedom Unlimited in branch? Just applied and banker said I should find out in 3-10 business days

I was approved instantly after applying, when i logged into my chase account the card already shows up although I dont have the physical card yet. (That takes 7-10 days to arrive)
