You're burning a 5/24 for 11K points?
One of the worst ideas I've read on DDF in a long time and that's saying something.
And btw it’s 22.5 k...
Plus 55 k from csp. = 77.5 with 10.5 k spend and only the 3k needs to be in the first 3 months
I think this is by far the most compelling card(s) now, for people who open cards to keep them ex. Non ddf’rs
And I will be recommending this to all who ask me for a good cashback/travelback card

$7.5K spend in year one:
DDMS route: $4K on CSP+ $3.5K on downgrade to CFU=55K+4K+5,250=64,250 with 1 slot used.
Abey route 1: $7.5K on CFU 3x=22.5K with 1 slot used.
Abey route 2: $4K on CSP+ $3.5K on CFU 3X=55K+4K+10,500=59,000 with 2 slots used.

Onwards 3x is the key you are missing...
many people spend more than that on cc a year and want cashback or travel back..
And this is the best duo at the moment.
Or offer up a better one ?

Good grief. Yes it's a good duo.
All I said on DDMS was to calculate which route is better. You claimed I was wrong with $7.5K. I am not.
If you want to change the number go ahead and plug it in to see which rotue is better.

“However, if you will spend more than approximately $35,000 in your first year in non-bonused everyday spending, then you can do better with this new Freedom Unlimited offer”
And I am saying that’s it’s valuable from 10 k and on, huge difference.
And makes life a lot simpler without making sure to know categories etc.
My point? You didn’t promote this the right way as a simple very rewarding opportunity when paired with csp

say someone thats spending 20k in the next year for example, give me a better duo than getting csp and this fu...again for someone that couldn't care less about points
CSP AND CSR $8k on them then downgrade the CSR to a CFU and the the next $12k on the CFU this = 131,000 UR with an effective $150 annual fee that can be redeemed at a rate of 1.25 ( downgrade the CSP before second year, so no annual fee)

We’re talking about a mother in law here, and I don’t know about yours but this is WAY too complicated for mine.
Get the point? Most people have cashback cards in their wallet and this is a very good opportunity

DD isn't targeting the mothers in law crowd, though my MIL actually does a pretty good job with the stuff I post.

I didn’t mean that in a literal way.
Most people I know use cc for cashback even when holding csr and the like, most people don’t sign up for cards and close them...
@dan including DDMS readers, just read ur comments, besides the point that this can be promoted for friends who are asking for advice and don’t want too complicated.
You don’t have to promote it @dan if you don’t want, it’s just my humble opinion that many people can benefit from this.
Cheers

Half Spanish.
Half Russian.
Then some Spanish Russian too.
Seems like DDFB and DDMS comments are boring now.

the only difference between your idea and mine is under my plan you have to downgrade 1 more card by both of our plans 2 cards are being opened, and either the CSP is being downgraded or not depending on whether you don't want to pay an AF, just under my plan you're downgrading the CSR that's 1 more action to be taken. You can decide if that takes it from simplistic to "WAY too complicated"

I do want to note that if you get Sapphire sign up bonus, then spend the other 3.5k on a debit card that CHARGES you 3% you'd still be ahead.

What about missing out on a ton of good cards just to save 5/24? Is that a good idea?

If you don't care about your 5/24 number then you won't get approved for CFU3X anyway.
Therefore it's a moot point.
If you do care about 5/24 then it's only worthwhile if you're a big everyday spender.

I will stop, just one last question
Someone that wants a simple plan , no signing up for csp/csr same day no calling recon no activating categories every 3 months no remembering to call and pc....etc
Basically a banks dream customer
What would you recommend for a a spender of 10k 15k and up ? Because this imo is 90% of the population.
Give me you’re answer what is better than this and I will be happy
Because so far no one gave me one
