UA and CO messed me over. What do you think I can get from them?

So I was flying first class on miles from ORD to SLC via DIA on a United flight booked through CO miles.

My first leg got into DIA at about 130 PM, and my next leg was supposed to leave at 315 PM.

I came to the gate at 245, and the flight was canceled for mechanical reasons.
They told me the next flight they could get me on was the next morning at 1030.

The flight I was put on, I did not get first class. For first class, I would probably still be waiting.

Because of them, I missed half a day of snowboarding, and also had to pay more for my rental car bec Fox would not recognize my reservation from yesterday.

So, I think I should get the miles back from CO, especially since I did not end up flying first class, and should also get a voucher from UA for them being so out to lunch.

What do you think?

I would send a letter to both UA and CO and see what you can get.

You can definitely get a refund from CO being downgraded to steerage. I would try for a voucher of sort from both of them.

There were three flights after the one you were originally on.
Did you show them your BMI silver to try and get better priority?
did you show them BOTH of your BMI silvers?

Either way, I would call CO and tell them that you were displaced from first.
And also call United and ask the paki for a few hundred in vouchers for each thing that went wrong.
