Easy way to top off an account that's slightly short of needed miles-SPG requires 2500 to transfer, I only needed 300 for example.

Apparently it depends on status

"There is no minimum Starpoint transfer requirement for Platinum members with most airlines. Gold members have a minimum transfer requirement of 1,500 Starpoints, and Preferred members have a minimum transfer requirement of 2,500 Starpoints."
