Bjs has an Amex offer for $25 membership and receive $25 back in BJs GC.  I did not receive the offer on my card but presented the attached pdf and was able to get the offer. 

To make this offer even sweeter,  the day after I joined I received an email with a coupon for $5 off $50 purchase.

People here are always trying to use offers they were not targeted for.  I did pay for it with my Amex card, although I'm not really sure that was necessary.

Interestingly enough, I just checked and I have now received the offer on my card.  I guess they were rolling it out slowly.

I did pay for it with my Amex card, although I'm not really sure that was necessary.

its not. i didnt even ask and she specifically told me I could pay with another card.
