1. Needs to be verified, but IIANM once you have the card its tied into your account even though its supposed to be paid with the card and will work without the booking

2. I kept my amex open. got the transfer bonus and signed up for the plus card for the bonus

you will get the bags, but it will take some time until your account shows that you are a card holder. Not sure the exact time frame, but its not instant

Have the card for a long time. Flew a flight ams even though on the "manage your flight" page it shows 3 companions receiving free suitcase, when it came to check in though, it would charge us a fee for the suitcase.

wait, it only charged for the companions but not the card holder?
That's very odd.
I'd think once it recognizes the free bag for the card holder it would extend to companions

i once booked a b6 flight with chase miles and a free bag showed up during checkout but not for my travel companions. never called to make sense of it

on jetblue site you can link reservations made externally to their site. once i did that it showed up
