Have you tried weights?

Not yet. Another idea to try though. Thanks

Also if your just trying to limit the noise some foam may help (can be done with weights)

I've seen felt pads or foam being applied to the back of the bottom rail/rod to reduce the noise.

Put an eye screw in to a cross beam.

I'm putting vinyl fencing on a deck that I'd like to be removable. Any ideas for Posts that are either removable or small profile for the vinyl sleeves to sit on?

any ideas about fixing a roof leak in alternate cheaper method?

I have solar panels and a leak on the roof.  The combined cost of removing panels and fixing the leak could be costly.
the leak is not substantial any other alternate solutions?  can a regular handyman fix it?

Sorry don't have an answer for you. but this was one of the reasons we decided not to get solar panels.

Just keep in mind that the railing is there for safety. A tumbling adult or child who grabs the rail to keep from falling could easily exert sufficient force to pull an anchor or even a poorly placed toggle. At the very least, the rail should be joined into a wall stud at the beginning, middle and end to secure it and to keep it moored into the wall against normal forces (or abnormal if you have kids). If your studs don't line up as needed, you can look into a piece of pre-finished ornamental chair rail to screw into the studs and then secure your railing to that.  Or as someone suggested, a piece of lumber is a cheaper option to provide a secure base that you can paint or finish to your liking.  As an added bonus, you can run the wood to cover the holes that the loosened fastenings have created and save yourself the hassle of patching plaster or drywall.

I would think a roofer or handyman could patch the leaky area, even if it's not the 'correct' way of fixing the problem.

I was leaning towards that but can he do it from the inside of the attic? because otherwise we run into the panel removal time and cost etc....

Cant you reach under the panel to work on the roof?
You probably can't do a good job from underneath.  you don't want the water getting into the layers of the roof.  It'll eventually leak it's way into the house.

No idea is that common to work under the panels?

Just dealt with this exact issue. 2 roofers could not find the source of the leak outside and claimed the panels needed to be removed. In truth it was just the skirt covering a bracket that needed to be removed. Can you try having someone lift it off (like removing trim) to look? Did you identify the precise spot of the leak yet,

If you do need to move the panels, you might not need to take them off. Just loosen the clamp on top that connects one panel to the next and you will be able to slide it over. It's not too hard to slide over one panel at a time and rdpair underneath as needed, especially for the bottom of the array.

Repairing from inside is probably not going to work, but if you're not successful in getting to the leak from above then I can understand why you'd try. The only way I could see the working is if you cut a hole in the roof deck big enough to place a proper shingle patch through, then tar under it, etc. No handyman would do it for you

It looks like the middle piece (finial) should be unscrewed. Hold the rest of the fixture with your other hand as once you unscrew it it should just come right off.

And be aware of dead flies, spiders and roaches falling on your head

What looks like the glass that round circle casing would fall right down as soon as you remove that nut so be careful.

Might be helpful to get a chair vs is doing it with your hands stretched to the fixture.
