Anyone ever done gutters (more specifically downspouts, diverters, etc.) on their own? Trying to figure out what pieces and tools I need to make some adjustments to my system.

Gotcha. Check the power reading with multimeter to make sure it works for whatever new strips you buy.
For colors your going to want a controller in between to allow control.

Probably pays to replace all the wiring with what comes in the box of what you order.

You can use their wiring that shouldn't be a problem, just gotta to reattach the wires to the power supply. If your lucky and the lights you get have the same volts and needs equal or less amps then you can use the same power supply.

Any creative ideas?

I'm thinking like a tension rod with some sort of curtain but not sure it will be strong enough across the room about 12 ft

Portable mechitza?
Won't be tall enough I don't think

Interesting idea. I'm not sure how portable that is it's not like a curtain I can slide over. I would need to make a door too etc.

I'm thinking some sort of system with poles and a curtain but just haven't found anything in my searching. Ideally the height and width would be adjustable

How many light sources are there and what type. Can you just tape a few pieces of room darkening shades to the ceiling

I need to attach a light transmitter to this ledge. The bottom is wood, the side is paper-covered foam board:

My challenges are that the light protrudes about 3/8" from the bottom support. In addition, it needs to be removed periodically, so it can't be permanent - but it needs to be fairly snug as the whole contraption will be moved around somewhat regularly. I also want to add a heat sink between the light and the side wall.

I was thinking using a pair of offset brackets for the bottom and standard l-brackets for the top (both red). The bottom bracket will be screwed into the wood, and the top glued onto the paper backing. I'd run a velcro cable tie (blue) from the top to the bottom, giving me a snug and removable closure. Two glued i-brackets (green) will go behind and out to help dissipate heat.

I think this will work, but it's kinda messy. Anyone have a more elegant solution?

My original plan was a lot simpler, as the light I really wanted as way too big so I went with a smaller type that was flush to the support. But in between starting this project and now they actually came out with a way smaller version of the light I originally wanted, but that is what gives me the problematic 3/8" protrusion. Still worth it, but a bit more complicated now.
