Doesn't need to dry? Can't drill anyway with the kiddos asleep.
If you don't care why would you comment?

Correct. I'd recommend putting more glue before you do drill. (if it's possible)

Try packing the holes with toothpicks (and wood glue if you have) then screwing it back in.

This (incl. glue) worked like a charm for me using the original really short screws.

If that fails, I'd buy this wood filler and then put the screws back.

I literally have used this for so many things and bh always worked like a charm.

From fixing heavy pantry doors, to table legs, hinges, breakfront knobs, and many more.

They make a 3.5 oz and a 7 oz.

Depends for what and how much you need.
If you don't do such repairs the 3.5 oz will be more than enough.

Real life saver this little putty.
They make it for steel and plastic...

Railing doesnt stay screwed in. Seems like theres nothing firm behind wall to keep it in the screws. Is this too difficult for an aspiring DIYer? And what would be the best way to cover over the holes in the wall?
They have the special anchors that become very wide once they get pushed in fully.   Works great.

Never knew this existed. I just tossed a dining room chair this likely could have repaired. The corner of the frame below the seat (where the leg screws in) was cracked and it made the chair leg wobbly.

+1 and very easy for non-handy people to install. Look for 'toggle anchors' or 'hollow door anchors'.
Workflowy. You won't know what you're missing until you try it.

At least you know the name of the anchors.  I would go to home depot and ask for the thing for the thing ;D

You'll be quiet shocked at the results.
Don't know what took me so many years to find such a product.

I found it by googling "how to put an anchor into a hollow door" :)

A couple of our toilets are gurgling and almost constantly refilling (which I suspect is the root cause of an outlandishly high water bill).

It looks like the culprit might be the flush valve seal.

Is that a relatively easy fix/replacement? Anything I should bear in mind when doing?

Extremely easy replacement. I just did this last week.

One suggestion that may be helpful- after you drain the toilet tank there's still an inch or so of water. If you have a shop vac and can dry it up before sticking your hands in the whole job will be much more pleasant

Don't think that would be much help, the part that needs replacement is above that.

That depends if you are replacing just the top half or both halves.
Only on DDF does 24/6 mean 24/5/half/half
