I don't think it's just that. Its supposed to have a higher 'R-value' amongst other benefits.
It seems upon small further research that it's less likely to sag vs fiberglass which can, if not installed correctly.

OK, so I don't know if this counts as a DIY question, but I figure the people reading this would have the best chance of being able to help me.

I have a bunch of bookshelves with adjustable shelves, and I've lost a few of the pegs that hold the shelves up. What's the best way to get pegs that are the correct thickness and length?

They are usually a standard size, any hardware store should have them, as well as amazon of course. (Search bookshelf pegs)

Use a ruler to measure the diameter of the hole in mm. Order a pack on amazon and hope it's the right thing. If it's not, order a little bigger/smaller.
Workflowy. You won't know what you're missing until you try it.

If you haven't already, check out youtube.
And you'd need a 'conversion kit'; google buying that.

Filter. I know I'd need a conversion kit. Question is if it'd be a complicated job. Gas company wants 125 per appliance to do it and I think the kit is about 50.

I didn't watch the videos, but there are plenty.  And the comments sound like people intend to do it themself.
So sit with your friend and his less filtered device to see if the work is in your league.

I'm not. Got used appliances for free for the bungalow and only propane is available there.

How?
Not sure. The YouTube videos I watched showed them taking the orifice out of the regulator and flipping it over. I don't know if all ovens have this feature.

Any idea if a dryer is same thing or more complicated?

Seems that way and looks simple.
"When you turn the tower cap over it converts the regulator. The side of the cap that faces you tells you the fuel type it is set up to use. Right now it will be marked N or NAT for natural gas. When you remove the cap on top of the tower and turn it over to reinstall it, it should be marked L or LP for propane."

This is highly likely to be dependent on the specific model oven and/or dryer. I just happened to have seen a video from a homesteader style youtuber, and it took a guy you basically built his whole homestead from scratch and rebuilds old trucks all the time quite a while to get his brand new dryer converted - it involved disassembling nearly the entire dryer to get to the valve and orifice that needed to be changed.

The top burners are a piece of cake. The oven part will be model specific. Disassemble will be required.

But you responded to his question about dryers being equally simple.

Dryers should be easier.
I should add I can take an oven/dryer apart in my sleep so my perspective will be different.
