Learning Adobe Premiere Pro
« on: March 25, 2016, 10:55:36 AM »
Does anyone have experience with a good online resource for learning to use Adobe Premiere Pro?
Obviously free is nice, but I can spend some money if there is a paid resource that provides good value, and would rather pay for a great resource than rely on a mediocre one for free.

Thanks!

Depending on where you live, you can get Lynda.com pro membership for free via your public library.

Brooklyn public library for example.

To watch in the library only, or is it a membership that I can use to stream anywhere even at home?

It uses your library card number and pin to login to their site from anywhere in the world.

Wow! Great to know this. Now, off to the library to renew the membership.  :D
Wasn't there in quite a few years now.

Does this give you access to all their content?

Once you BUMPed this thread I'll make mention of an experience I had on Lynda literally a half hour ago. I wanted to know a certain feature whether it's an option in Indesign. I searched Lynda for Indesign course, then I searched within the course for that specific word. It gave me 34 results, each being a cluster of word so the searcher can see the context. If you click on that cluster it opens the video to exactly where those words are spoken. I found what I needed in just moments; something that would've taken much longer otherwise.

Brooklyn Public Library's card is free for anyone who lives, works, pays property taxes or goes to school in New York state. There is a limit of one library card per person.

HOW TO GET A LIBRARY CARD

New York Residents

Residents ages 13 and older can fill out the online application and choose to pick up their library cards at Brooklyn Public Library (BPL) or have it mailed.*

All ages can visit any of BPL's 60 locations and apply in person.

If you live outside of New York but work or go to school in New York State, you may apply in person for a free BPL library card.

* You must validate your library card before using it for the first time. You can do so by bringing acceptable ID and your library card with you during your first visit to any BPL location.

You'll still need to bring it to a branch to get validated; I wonder if Lynda works until you do so. NYS is very big, after all!
