Israel - JFK commute 2-3x/Mo
« on: March 26, 2016, 11:15:22 PM »
I will be traveling for work to and from Israel 2-3 times a month for the next year. I will leave Israel Sat or Sun night and return Wed night.
I know many people do it on El Al, but I wanted to get peoples' opinion if that is best. I was thinking Delta may be better with regard to reward trips and business upgrades, as well as SPG crossover.
Please share any experience you have.

thanks in advance

I think ELAL is the best with giving uogrades to Platinum members when their flights are overbooked

Sometimes due to limited options that's the best in the situation.  I dislike them as much as the next guy but have flown them before and would do it again.

Mind expounding on what prompts you to say that?

They have the most flights daily (3-4) which gives the most flexibility, with larger aircrafts than their competitors (747). For someone flying often for business who will probably need a bit of flexibility (at least sometimes), with El Al there is a 99% chance of having availability on any given flight at any given time.

1. Anyone know where I could find the schedule of flights to compare ElAl to Delta?

2. Is the AMEX platinum the best care to use to accumulate Matmid points?

3. Is Wifi available on all ElAl flights?

Amex PRG earns 3x airfare.

1) just search on ITA
2) your booking these flights with miles or revenue? redeeming for Y? if yes dont bother with Matmid points. Get a better currency, sell and book revenue.
3) No.

+100 also worth to mention that they fly in conditions like snow storms etc. When no other airline is flying! So if consistency is a must definitely stick with ELAL!

Imho, I disagree. I would choose DL. The hard product and soft product is way better & they take care of their medallion memebers. Other skymiles memebers, not so much.

That's not really addressing the OPs specific points.

Why? The OP asked for opinions on what airline he should choose.

ad120 was stating why he would choose DL over LY. All within the OP's question.

Why?
Aren't DL's TLV flights at night?

No one gives as much uogrades like ELAL does, if he's constantly flying only on the TLV route, I think ELAL gives the best options and flexibility and Kosher food
