Hi all,

planning on being in israel for my sons 3rd birthday.
thinking of making our way up to meron for the day to cut his hair.

anyone have any information on how to go about this?

is there a specific place to cut? any permission needed? anything else you think i should know?

Public busses or drive?
Are you able to stay on top of the security situation? (Like "Is today a "HOT" day in the north?")
DO you just want a simple thing or a party planned thing?...

Including us probably like 15 people give or take.
Maybe rent a bus from Jerusalem. Can we go back and forth same day or little nuts?
I mean we can try to be aware of action in north but that can change in a minute.

If  your looking for simple take publictrans in the morning 8-9 ish
buy wht evr you want to serve in osher ad/saarei revacha the day before.
If you want to give him a full hair cut in meron (not just a few snips) either bring a machine with you or there may be some gemach machines around (not sure exactly where...)
pleanty of time to do your thing, daven at the kvorim...
Take an early or late evening bus back...

I'm needing help as well, being that it's motzei shabbos this year, I would love to be in Meron for shabbos already, I understand that it's costly but where do I start with finding a room for couple and 3yo?

just to clarify that i'm answering two seperate different questions:

@smaxber you are asking about your sons birthday on a diferent date?

public trans is 2:30-2:45
private car is 2:15 or so...
both w/o traffic

with regard to shabbos/lag baomer... you dont need to be IN meron for shabbos to make it for the hadlaka... anywhere in the galil should be fine. Think tzfas, tveria, the many small yishuvim walkable ish to meron, even karmiel, maalot, afula, nof hagalil, and Chaifa.

Its still a few months out, but if the security situation would be the same as today there's absolutly no way they will allow any sort of large gathering. (It's much, much easier for them to do it legaly than during corona - they can just declare large swaths of the galil a closed military zone - and stop busses dozens of kilometers from meron.)

Yes it is for lag beomer, but I do want to be IN meron for Shabbos
