In camp, the kids were told that they are getting ice cream in honor of the HC's birthday. They made a big deal with all the boys in the lunchroom and got everyone to make the shehakol together loud so no one eats before the rest. It was really frozen mayonnaise as a topping above a hard-boiled egg which was place in a cone. The kids were so into eating that some were only hit by the second or third bite...
Gross!

I verbally told people that were coming to my Purim seudah that everyone in attendance will be receiving an iPad.  When we started eating I gave everyone an iPad box with one of these inside:

It was a huge success, the adults were all super excited. One of the kids cried when he opened the box and realized it was a joke.

One Seder nacht my uncle got a knock at the door. A goy comes in & says that he bought all their chometz & he's here to claim it all. That year it was April 1st & a relative decided to prank them.

This was done by a rov for real. No prank. He for the goy to go to a few houses and take a bottle of Scotch from each.

I've heard that Rav Heinemann in Baltimore does this every year so that people take the "sale" seriously.
