yup, i was a kid in the back seat when my parents were teaching my older sister. took about three red/greel light cycles for her to get out of the middle of the intersection!
ALOLPlease no-one take this the wrong way, or as an insult, but it doesn't necessarily take a manual transmission car for a female driver to stand in the middle of an intersection (or street) for a while.
+1 to all the above, my dad taught me on the streets of London, but I really conquered it coming up Golda Meir on a Friday...
Anyone have a Manual car in Brooklyn who wants to spend an hour or 2 showing me how to drive it? I'm willing to pay. Most driving schools won't teach me because I don't have a NYS permit or license.
I know a few people that have done that. Rent a car and at like 2 in the morning when the roads are empty just go out and experiment
+1 did it in romania. Had an overnight stopover, rented a manual for $20 and killed that transmission
How did you get out of the rental car lot?
There was no lot. The airport was so small, a rep met me on the street. (I waited till he left)
FWIU Stalling a manual a whole bunch of times is not the best...
ALOL Which airport is this? OTP?
I shud write a TR just cuz it was the funniest 12 hour trip I ever had. (it wud be the first TR without a hotel stay probably. http://www.dansdeals.com/forums/Smileys/default/smiley.gif
I taught myself by researching online then buying a car and just driving.
