Hi,
My brother's flight TLV-ATH-FCO just got cancelled because of the strike in Greece. He booked it using UR points through Chase (as "cash", not transferred to miles). He called the airline twice and they refuse to rebook him on a different Star Alliance carrier, only offering him either a refund or to rebook on their own flights at next available. He is about to call Chase now.
What should he be pushing for? What can and can't the parties involved deliver?
