I could have made a fortune exporting Mattel handheld electronic football to Norway.
I brought mine there 1 summer & it was all the rage...should of started gray marketing them into Europe!

IIRC 5.25" floppies were 180kb for SS (single sided) and 360kb for DS. 512kb for SSDD (single sided double density) or 1.2MB for DSDD (double sided double density).

Now I also had the privelege of working for a short while with a Typesetting machine (that was before laser printers) that used 8" floppies, I can't recall how much those held, but the machine definitely was very limited in file size.

Check out http://floppydisk.com/
You mixed it up a little. Double sided, high density disks are 360KB. Double sided, high density disks are 1.2MB.
You wrote in past tense ("were"). I am writing in present tense. I just checked my box of 5.25" floppies to verify this info.

...a caller ID was a separate machine, and needed its own jack to display the callers info...
The phone company would offer a free caller ID box for signing up for the service. Later, they offered a free phone with a built in caller ID display. I churned about three of the former and four of the latter.

Yes. Some of them had only half the riddle, and even worse, some had only the question, but the answer was cut off. Also, the names of those who submitted them took up too much valuable space on the wrappers.  >:(

When a Hungarian math professor introduced a certain cube as an exercise for his students and it became a global hit. There was no Google back then to find out how to solve, my best friend's older brother was a true math genius and he figured out two sets of moves required in order to solve.

My record at the time was around 2 minutes IIRC.
I've been waiting over 5 years with bated breath for someone to say that!
