No ticket for baby - Aeroflot (TLV)
« on: April 07, 2016, 11:06:24 AM »
My brother in law arrived at the airport in TLV > NYC and was told the newborn baby had no ticket. They told him only way he can get on is if he buys a business class ticket, with makes no logical sense since its a lap seat.

Any suggestions?

He has to add him to the ticket. Was he ever added on?

Baby on Intl flights needs to have its own ticketed, can't be "added" to another

I was responding to the
and was told the newborn baby had no ticket.
And to that I was asking was he added it sounded like they never even told them that they have a lap child.

But you correct that they are ticketed

On Air Canada the baby has a ticket number but he doesn't get a BP in his name

No, that was part of the issue. Not sure what options there are

You want he should travel for free? You had to buy a ticket for him, and obviously by the airport they will charge full fare

I don't understand why they want him to buy a business class seat, how does that help?

Precisely

Duly noted. He screwed up and forgot, it was a new born. He'll gladly pay - its a lap child, 10% of a ticket. But since it takes no more room on the aircraft, why can't they just charge him there and let him on? Is there any place to call to have this fixed?

I had an interesting experience with this once.

Got J tickets for myself and DW from FlyingBlue JFK-SVO on DL SVO-TLV on SU. When I booked the FlyingBlue tickets, I asked to purchase an infant ticket, got a whole runaround, and then was told to call DL in order to purchase that ticket. When the email arrived with the J tickets, there was also a ticket for the infant included for which I paid a grant total of $0.

DL agent at JFK had a hard time checking us in, but eventually did some kind of override, and gave us a boarding pass for the infant. At SVO it took even longer, but eventually we got a boarding pass for the infant there too (some kind of manually issued one).

Coming back, I had to hack a few tickets in order to be able to purchase the infant ticket at a better price (he might still have an unused JFK-TLV segment on that ticket - never checked).
I've been waiting over 5 years with bated breath for someone to say that!

I am booking a ticket on Aeroflot and bringing a lap child.... so just to confirm, what exactly is the procedure?
Just add the lap child while booking and I am good to go?
TIA

I booked a ticket for my family on Expedia for an aerflot trip to TLV. My infant is not on the ticket. I’m getting a major runaround from Aeroflot about how to add him. I’ve called  all offices for a week straight and now they say I need to GO down to the NYC office to add him (because that specific office is not answering their phone)

Call Expedia, ask for a supervisor right away, it can take a while but they should be able to do it.

I tried that. They transferred me 10x and then said I need to do this with Aeroflot directly.

They definitely can do it if they want to, HUCA. if it's not worth the hassle, you can always book in the airport.

Had this once. It seems that if you don't add the infant at the time of booking you have to go down to one of their offices.

I’m planning on adding on an infant to a RJ ticket booked through Expedia. Anyone have experience with this?
