I was there in August and it barely dipped under 65..
And i'm sure people are willing to have 1 extra stop to save $500 :)


Edit: on the return its available without that 2nd stop.

They now have NYC-SYD with only 1 stop in LAX for $675 with virgin america/australia wide open dates! (MEL seems limited)
