Converting Marriott Points to UA

Hey - wondering if it makes sense to do this. Never able to use Marriott points, seem worthless...
Anyone have experience transferring? Any reason not to?

It says on the site that could take 6 weeks to go through. Anyone have experience with that?

Anyone know if names have to match to make a marriott to ua transfer? Not sure what's better use of 25k marriott  (10k ua points)
