I only can fly El Al ex-NYC because it doesn't conflict with Shacharis minyanim. DL and UA are no-no's when it comes to that.

I would probably fly one airline over another airline if 1 permits minyunim and the other doesn't so I can daven with minyen.

I totally respect that. I just have a hard time relating to it personally since it's not something that would enter into my decision about what flight to take. No, not even on a Monday or Thursday or Rosh Chodesh.

So why not take the UA afternoon flight? That is what I choose (though as of this summer I believe DL also has an afternoon flight a few times a week).

As for sleeping, I hear Ambien is the best (though I haven't used it). DL business class is also very conducive to sleeping (at least on the TLV-JFK segment - night flight with excellent bedding).

Regarding chiyuv, as long as one is not a חרש, שוטה או קטן why wouldn't he be mechuyav to daven with a minyan?

Lastly regarding negel vasser, my solution is to get one of those rather large clear plastic cups they have on flights (I think it's 10 or 12 Oz) and a couple of water bottles. I fill up the cup when ready to wash, and wash into the sick bag.

I love your colorful way of expressing yourself but really now. We're not talking about someone choosing to not go to shul. We're talking about a situation where there is no minyan.

I'm flying to Israel on a flight which lands on Friday morning, and I must sleep on the plane. Problem is, I find sleeping on an airplane impossible. Does anyone have any advice on falling asleep on the plane?
