As a young couple, we were more machmir/ had a few more hiddurim than our parents. They weren't things that imposed on our parents (much) so we were just frummer and more holy than them.
Our older children are girls, so it took a long time for our son to bring home
his hiddurim. Pretty much only that we should kasher our granite counter and stuff with a stone. Good thing they sell kashering kits, so that became our new way to kasher.
Then our girls began to get married. And brought their husbands to my house for Pesach. I got 2 new ones in 1 year (B"H) and was scared silly to hear what I wouldn't be able to cook with. Not bad. I now preboil all the sugar that will go into public food, squeeze my own lemons, and only buy 1 hechsher of meat.
