that hotel looks really nice (ok, not the room carpet, but the other features of the hotel).
It was quite a unique experience. I walked into the room and spent 10 minutes looking for the A.C controls which I didn't find. I couldn't fathom that a hotel known among the locals as the "best hotel in Ceylon" and which charges more then 5 times what an Airbnb with a butler would cost wouldn't have an A.C.
But lo and behold they didn't, I guess they couldn't incorporate it into the rooms without it being an eyesore.
At the end of the day it wasn't really necessary as the very high altitude kept it cool and nothing like the deathly hot and humid weather of the rest of the country. The only extremely annoying aspect was that I opened the balcony door for the fresh breeze and a family a flies came in and wouldn't leave, I woke up my first morning there with a fly constantly doing passes on my ear, I wanted to kill someone.
