If you would order an esrog for succos, (or a Christmas tree for the holidays) and the seller had issues and couldn't ship your order until the week after YT, would you think that canceling the order is unethical? What would you think of a seller that refuses to refund you, because you had an agreement and the unforseen circumstances aren't his fault? How noble would you consider it if the buyer has pity on the seller, understands that he already put in the effort to fulfilling the order and had issues come up due to no fault of his own, and agrees to buy the items at a loss?

Agree, Basically when asked to cancel you don't have to, but by being a mentch would be to cancel! And regarding the sellers where it's a gain (and a fluctuating gain where you could make more or less in profits!) and no loss! So yes there is a difference between the 2!

why does that make sense?? one could be a loss of 30$ while they can be giving up a gain of $300...

You're rationale for why it doesn't make sense is my rationale for why it does.

When the dealers say that I shouldn't open the box, do they mean the brown outside Packaging? If yes what will they do if my wife opened a drop of   the brown Packaging?

We send payments in batches every few days. So typically it'll be as little as one day to as much as 3-4 business days from when you "cash out". Although for this deal the terms gave us 7 business days.

my 2˘
dealers should pay the full amount as long as they did not give a deliver by date when making the deal
they should not ask anyone to cancel as that would be the same as a buyer wanting to cancel when the price skyrockets
the dealers took the risk of buying those preorders early hoping that the value would be higher later
while the buyers took the risk of selling the orders early at a potentially lower price in exchange for a guaranteed profit.

this time the buyers came out ahead last time the dealers did that's just the way the world works.

  • Location: The value of a forum such as this one is not in that one can post a question and receive an answer, but in that the question has most likely been asked before, and the answer is available to him that will but only use the search function.
  • Programs: 1. Search on google. 2. Search in the right board of DDF with a general word or two. 3. Read the wiki. 4. Read the thread. 5. Ask away.

Buyers can request to back out, odds are the dealer will say no. But I don't think asking is wrong.
