And this is instead of a regular stroller or do people also spend another ~1k on their Bagaboo?
When my first kid was born doona wasn't around, we had the Bugaboo and snap n go. I found the Bugaboo to be terribly inconvenient, but cost-wise it wasn't a problem.
Bought it for like $650 through dansdeals and resold it after 2 kids for like $500. We also used it as a bassinet in the house, saving on that as well. Bottom line - if an expensive item retains it's value well and has a resale market, it's not as expensive as you think. (See: Tesla deal)
More recently, have been using the doona for 6 months and then moving to the Yoyo babyzen, which is small, lightweight, and folds up easy. Still used the Bugaboo but basically only in the house this time. Sold the Bugaboo and may go for a bassinet next time.
