It might only be me, but I think I'd rather pay more and fly out of FLL than save some and fly out of MIA. There's simply no comparison between the experience of flying into or out of these two airports (which is why I rarely fly AA to FL).
I've been waiting over 5 years with bated breath for someone to say that!

Then drive 20 more minutes and fly out of PBI.

I've been checking BA and there is nothing available. Any suggestions or is it too early for AA to release seats to BA?

Done that before, and I actually like PBI a lot better than FLL as an airport, but it is further away (more than just 20 minutes IIRC) and can't compare number of flights from PBI-NYC to what's available FLL-NYC.

Interesting... why??

I only fly into MIA since I stopped renting and instead Uber it

Well, maybe it's because it's partially because I rent cars wherever I go. Getting from the gate to wherever just seems to take forever. MIA is also out of the way, vs FLL which is right off the highway. PBI  on the other hand is a nice small airport where I haven't experienced long lines.

If AA doesn't have anything for 12.5k then BA won't have anything for 7.5k. It's up to you if you want to wait and see if any of those will open up closer to the time.
