Paying for a Cruise
« on: May 11, 2016, 08:49:55 PM »
What is the best card to use when paying for a cruise.  I paid for airline tickets last year outbound with Amex Platinum and inbound with Chase.  We had a major issue and trip was cancelled.  Chase was amazing, their free travel insurance covered my trip.  Amex Platinum said I neeeded to have bought their extra trip insurance.  I'm thinking I shoudl pay with Chase, but I thought I would put it out there.

Saphire. That's the best card for travel. I book all my cruises on my Saphire.

Lets start with what do you have?
After SP, just look for any card that'll offer you a bonus for travel. After that its back to the good ole "Always use an Amex"

Chase British, Chase Ink, Chase Freedom, Citi World, Amex Delta, Amex Plat.  The travel bonus is good, but I really want the protection, just in case.

best option is upgrade freedom to SP (should be one phone call) and then book.
Other than that Amex's reguar purchase protection is very good but its not travel insurance

I think Ink might offer a similar travel protection but call to be sure

Many with recent experience would say that line is dead, iinm.

Who do you think you are fooling? You think you are going to pull a quick one on your Creator? Good luck with that.
