Around how much do you expect this to cost?

Tough to answer at this point due to this being incredibly preliminary, but most likely sub-$1k all-inclusive except flights.

Likely 5 days, 4 nights.

Just testing the waters here... Anyone interested in a Cuba workshop in December? Jetblue JFK-HAV is 3.5k miles each way.
Uch. I hate you.

Except if you have a way for me to call it in sick without having to contract anything...  ;D

BTW the Cuba trip is on and is filling up. If you want to join hit me a PM.

12/4 - 12/8
$600-1000 depending on the final amount of people, all-inclusive. Includes all instruction, lodging, transport, food, etc. Flights (currently under 6k Jetblue + $$7 round trip, which is practically free), snacks, and drinks are separate.
We'll shoot Old Havana, the Melecon, the Capitolio, Chinatown, the works. We'll also go to Vinales for a day.

Supermoon tomorrow morning. There was nothing like this since 1948, and the next chance will be in 2034. Anyone in for a photoDO?

This picture is my my own personal protest against supermoon craziness.

The moon tonight appears all of fifteen percent larger than normal. You know what that means? GOORNISHT. It's barely noticeable. It's pretty much the same as every new moon, but the whole world goes bonkers. You never look at the moon so you don't notice it, but every month it looks nearly as large.

And I'll say this: every single picture you see coming out of tonight and tomorrow with a huge moon against a city or whatever could have been done any freaking month. It's all about your lens and perspective.

And the proof is in the pudding in my picture above. You want a big-ass moon? Use a big-ass lens. The end. Finito. Adios.

The picture above? It was taken on June 14th.

IIRC last years supermoon (on sukkos) was incredibly bright and large. To the human eye! No cameras...

So your saying that you're postponing my requested DO to June 14th?  ;D

It is bright and large every month to the human eye, sometimes a bit more sometimes a bit less. Tonight's is a bit "morer" than ever. Very cool no doubt, but no need for the world to grind to a halt and go photograph it. You could get the same picture any plain month.

People just never notice the moon, because they aren't directed by a media desperate for clicks and views to go look. You can't go two feet tonight without everyone carrying on about the absolutely incredible moon pictures they could take when it's quite honestly a load of hogwash.

Curmudgeonly old man rant over, now GET OFF MY LAWN!
