I Traveled for sukkos to israel with elal airlines together with my family. I had reserved and confirmed seats but when arrived in airport they told me they changed my reserved seats and put me on the last and worst row in the flight. they gave me 2 options, either stay here in israel or take our assigned seats. anyone with experience what can do now? (except option of disputing cc charge :-*)

Typical LY customer service.

Typical LY customer service.
Actually it's probably a case of LY accommodating a preferred customers' seating request.

I flew elal to New York for pesach it was really nice,we were on the 747 upstairs.
It was really nice to travel in business class direct (I booked them long ago with aa) it feels like a private jet up there.

We had very good service and half the cabin was empty.
I will write the truth, I flew already LH-F SQ-R and I enjoy business class better, they don't come every 2 seconds asking what you want, they overdue it in first class.

But let's not forget this was elal so something weird had to happen with them :o
I had an infant with me and half the cabin was empty so I sat across the aisle from my wife and the infant sat next to my wife, the manger came over to me and said I need to pay $800 for taking an extra seat in business class I thought he was joking but-no,he said people want to have an empty seat next to them so I asked what will it help if you put $800 in your pocket that people should be happy? I told him no one paid for two seats here.

The only way I was able to send him away was by showing him my boarding pass (I originally booked 2 seats one across the aisle from each other hoping next to one of them would stay empty),so I said I am sitting on my seat and my wife doesn't matter if the seat next to het is not empty and especially when it's her son.

But I would really like to fly them again, anyway to book besides matmid?
Is Aeromexico and qantas airlines partners with them? Can I book an award with them?

You can now only book economy on ElAl with Qantas points, although you can now redeem awards from/to the US, previously they only allowed from/to Asia and Europe.

Strange, my MIL booked TLV-HKG rt using QF points last month, for travel in business class in November. She had to call up as no seats available on QF website.

It just says classic flight reward, doesn't seem to indicate economy only:
