I find it very hard to believe.
Most times they have received a new 787 they had a two week gap where they were 'upgrading' them

Strange... I have a friend at IAI, I'll try to understand from they wouldn't equip the 787.
And I guess they are not using the 777 because they have been converted to cargo planes?

So much for the people that say they only fly LY because of the anti-missile system.

All 777s were converted?

I don't buy this at all. There's no way elal would admit that a portion of the fleet doesn't have the middle avoidance system.

The system only protects from shoulder launched infrared guided missiles, which can only reach a maximum of 20,000 feet, so it really only helps during takeoff and landing. That's besides the fact that a missile is unlikely to break a large planes' fuselage and it can sustain an engine loss without issues.

The Israeli government funded their installation originally, however there was a dispute with Elal over who would pay the large maintenance costs

I guess they have union issues preventing them from bringing back the simulator staff

So it's not on any 787s?

Maybe due to the composite materials it's made out of.
I've been waiting over 5 years with bated breath for someone to say that!
