Right about TYP.

From the Qantas website - https://www.qantas.com.au/fflyer/dyn/partners/airline/el-al#using-points

For travel until 31 January 2015:

Classic Flight Reward bookings may be made only for flights between Israel and Asia, India, South Africa, Europe and the Middle East.

For travel from 1 February 2015:

You can only use your Qantas Points on El Al for a Classic Flight Reward in Economy class.

Classic Flight Reward bookings may be made only for selected flights between Israel and Asia, Canada, Europe, India, South Africa, and the United States of America.

Strange, my MIL booked TLV-HKG rt using QF points last month, for travel in business class in November. She had to call up as no seats available on QF website.

But let's not forget this was elal so something weird had to happen with them :o
I had an infant with me and half the cabin was empty so I sat across the aisle from my wife and the infant sat next to my wife, the manger came over to me and said I need to pay $800 for taking an extra seat in business class I thought he was joking but-no,he said people want to have an empty seat next to them so I asked what will it help if you put $800 in your pocket that people should be happy? I told him no one paid for two seats here.

The only way I was able to send him away was by showing him my boarding pass (I originally booked 2 seats one across the aisle from each other hoping next to one of them would stay empty),so I said I am sitting on my seat and my wife doesn't matter if the seat next to het is not empty and especially when it's her son.

What a douche...

It just says classic flight reward, doesn't seem to indicate economy only:

IME no YQ ex-Asia or the US.
I think that might have changed very recently.

I don't think any currency transfers to them.
Dan just wrote up that Citi transfers to them.

Do you know if she's in business on all flights?
