I havent flown EL-AL since 1997 but my nlaws bought us tickets to israel for succot and they booked us on el-al... :-X
Anyhow, I want to upgrade our economy seats. When I go online its only offering more room, not premium economy. Is more room premium economy? I assume not since its only $100 to upgrade..the flight is empty, how can i upgrade? ive attempted to chat with el-al but i may as well talk to myself..any advice please
thank you

PS: I honestly dont know how or why anyone flys el-al

The answer to your question and to most in this thread is simple.
Always use an agent.
Just like most things in Israel, if you do it right, it will work out fine and not that much worse than what you would get elsewhere. People generally are not aware of how to do it right.

So your ban is longer than mine. But no-one is buying me tickets, so I might outlast you (though while I am now open to giving them a try, my reasons to fly to TLV are no longer around  :'(. Maybe if one of my kids goes to learn there, or ends up living there, I will have new reasons to go)
I've been waiting over 5 years with bated breath for someone to say that!

Two people, with the exact same name, booked tickets on the exact same flight!
Person #2 had a lot of trouble getting his ticket approved, as the system insisted he already had a ticket.
Will this cause issues for person #1?
Thanks.

I had this once. I got an automatic cancellation email from United. After explaining, they added "1" as middle name and all was good.

Had it many times with clients, A TA can do it with no issue.
No, it will cause no issue to Person #1 if booked by a TA, If not then no idea...

At JFK elal checkin, would a person flying elal and a person flying delta go through the same TSA security line? Then elal has extra security by gate?

Person #2 booked through a travel agent.
Only issue with person #2 is if they want to hold the ticket without issuing, If issued right away it can be done without any problems...

It's been 25 years. Keep an open mind. The hard and soft product is immeasurably better than it was. Customer service on the ground is lacking.
As far as your question, premium economy is bigger and better, on a truly empty flight you might be better off without it as the armrests don't go up and you can't lie across seats.

Are you allowed to bring a personal item on elal NYC to TLV route, besides a carry=on luggage?

I booked two seperate tickets with elal (they only had one left at the cheaper price) however i forgot to add my 1 month old baby to either ticket.

ELAL does not pick up the phone.

Can a travel agent help me out? i would like to cancel and rebook either way with a travel agent I'm still with in the 24 hr window from the booking if that helps (not sure because its lite)

With elal I always use an agent, everything is protectzia, and they know the system. Other airlines I do myself, it feels like an even playing field, other than status.
