Probably has to do with younger generation speaking much better english
Correct but it is also a training and hiring issue.Did you ever notice that there are almost no middle age people in the Israeli service industry? It's mostly high school or collage age people who are only working in that job until they move on to something better. They feel like they don't really have to treat you well since they are planing on moving on soon.Did you ever see a 45 year old FA in Elal coach? Other airlines have plenty of middle aged FA's who have been doing the job for 5, 10, 20 years and view it as a real profession.
+1Someone who flew Hainan to Beijing on a brand new A330 or Cathy to Hong Kong on a brand new A350 might return to ELAL if they get new planes but ONLY if they start training their staff to provide service in a way that you don't feel like they are doing you a favor after you spent double to fly with them!!!
But this is exactly the country your flying to. When you walk into any store in Israel you get the feeling like your doing them the favor.....Its a culture thing and the only way to change is for them to hire Asian FA
Nothing captures it better than: It's not just the airline, it's Israel!
I always say El Al's motto should be tweaked to: It's not an airline, it's Israel.
Whats up with that emergency landing tonight, was there really an engine fire?
No. LY does not have premium economy buckets. They sell everything as economy and you can purchase at extra cost economy plus. Same way UA works.
I am flying in/out of BOSTON on El Al soon. I do not think there is seat back entertainment on their 767's. Anyone flown that route recently to confirm? Do they have streaming on those planes (like they say on their website) and if so does it actually work?
Daughter just got back from Israel in Nov on the TLV-BOS flight. She just confirmed that in Y there is no seatback entertainment. There are small cathode-ray tube-type television monitors in the aisles but she said they were too small to see anything. IIRC, in J, they provide iPads. She said the FAs didn't inform them of any ability to stream on their own devices. Are you sure you have to fly on El Al???
Yup- booked . Wonder if the Nov flight was the Spanish leased flight? El Al's website and in-flight magazine mention streaming. I need to have faith......
