Ly 26 canceled and rescheduled tomorrow morning 7:15am as flight number ly1026. I've heard from a few passengers that they were notified by elal today around noon time, I pity these people they were expecting a red eye flight and now it's a full daytime flight

Unless they’re eligible for Israeli aviation law compensation

cheaper, seat availability, timing with shabbos/yt etc....
You know better than anyone, there's other things than timing to consider when booking a flight

But not to this extent, they leave their house at 3:30am and don't arrive in Israel till 12am, if you're staying in JLM you arrive there not before 2am

I'm 6 hours into a 14 hour flight. Minyanim, babies, kids etc. I'm totally OK with, and kind of like the heimeshkeit. No beverage service as of yet (and no record of my substantial order of kids mehadrin meals) is much harder to forgive.
Is this a new LY thing or they just decided not to bother?

ETA: why do they care at all if kids sleep on the floor. Literally just made us wake up 5 kids. ( who are now thirsty). I don't get it.

Literally ran out of water bottles 6 hours before the end of the flight.

Not a good enough answer to wake up 5 kids. Hygiene is my problem, and why is it more unsafe than laying down on a seat unbuckled?
I know it's not unique to elal. They tend to be uniquely makpid and unsympathetic

I once slept on a airplane floor, interesting experience.

I personally rather a day flight, I can function like a human being and read or watch stuff or use my phone and sleep at the destination.

The one situation where I dislike, is flying into LAX and arriving at night. Just a big pain in the butt to get to a hotel near airport (Hyatt lax is nice) and get a car next morning .

I've done this multiple times at sfo and enjoyed it.. anything involving lax gives me creeps

Flying Motzei Y"K EWR to TLV can anyone confirm if El Al lets you check in before YK and if yes how early?

Online they mention it when flying from TLV, the Rep didnt know anything about it and just told me its 24 hours and I should be there 4 hours before the flight...
