Anyone noticed? On ELAL's website it's now showing codeshares with delta direct to NYC, with some dates being cheaper the ELAL flights

What a shame that the Alaska partnership will be ending. Especially with the new redemption rates  :(

Sadly, these are Israel point-of-sale tickets and are not available to book via US travel agencies, so you won’t be able to directly redeem AMEX or Chase Hybrid points for these. But you may be able to redeem for other Delta flights, cancel those for Delta flight credit, and use that flight credit to book this.

I see that it’s available to buy Elel flights via delta on amax travel

I’d assume he’s not referring to all only some. Mainly when originate abroad and many times even drastically different prices. Of course plenty that are available maybe even most. As in the e.g. originates in tlv

Update: El Al confirms to DansDeals that travel agents will receive their regular commissions when travelers use these vouchers.
LY has now resent a memo to Israeli based Ta's as follows:

Would there be any way to get them to officially confirm the commission eligibility on these vouchers? because AFAIK all UATP vouchers that they are issuing under this program fall under this category.

Matmid Gold can enter DL lounges as long as they have a Delta flight? Am I understanding this right?
That's what they're claiming:

Let us know if you try :)

entry to Delta Air Lines lounges is subject solely to Delta Air Lines’ policy
I don't like the sound of that

Hachi babayit baby.

I confirmed with multiple top LY sources that the paid vouchers are commissionable. Can't help it if they're incompetent.

I'll try it in January BH
I have a feeling it will be contigent on having a long-haul flight on the itinirary. Similar to their existing policy for Sky Team Elites

@Dan you should try to get the message across to your contacts at LY that in order to make their program attractive, they need a good US CC partnership that will include attaining status and avoiding expiration of miles. That, along with the ability to redeem on DL (and hopefully they keep EY and some other partners) will make it compelling. Let them look at AC as a model.
I've been waiting over 5 years with bated breath for someone to say that!

They know, we discussed it extensively. The previous buffoons locked them into a bad long-term deal.

How much would it cost them to break that deal? The same as it would cost Alaska to break their deal?

It may take a month to get your refund, but it should come. I had a similar experience. Learned always to book a ticket with ElAl using a travel agent.

should the prices be the same via a travel agent? I recently reached out to one and the rates were significantly higher
