LY just announced they will have better financial results than anticipated  :P

The benefit of being a monopoly

Rough google translation:

..following the board meeting held on December 20, 2023, the company took and is taking  in various commercial, financial and operational actions, in order to continue to deal with the effects of the war on society.

Meanwhile, and in light of the increased demand for the company's flights, the company adjusted its flight schedule and, among other things, added flights to destinations with high demand.

Also, since the outbreak of the war, there has been a significant increase in the scope of cargo activity, whether in the belly of passenger planes or in the company's dedicated planes.  In addition, there was a significant drop in jet fuel prices.

Further to the above, the company estimates that its business results for the fourth quarter of 2023 will be better than the company's early estimates as detailed in the previous reports.

Is this a real boost in flight sales or did voucher sales artificially boost Q4 fiscal results?

Who knows.
What's clear is that they maxed out capacity to the US with higher prices, and they also had massive cargo activity also with higher rates. Meanwhile jet fuel is down over 15%

How do they account for the voucher sales. Till the vouchers are used they have that liability on their books.

Only what's been redeemed can be recognized as revenues

I have an ELAL ticket booked with Alaska Miles (looks like I got these in just under the wire).

When I go to the ELAL app and add my record locator, I get a message that says:   "Oops...your reservation is not ticketed yet, you can only add ticketed reservation."

It does go to the next screen when I click OK and I see the full reservation, can pick seats, etc...    Is this an issue or this just what happens?

Don't see a section on the ELAL app or the ELAL website where the ticket number belongs?   I do have a ticket number from the Alaska receipt

Then that’s the one you should use

TLV - NRT with Delta Sky miles: 70k in J is crazy sweet spot. Qantas requires 90k, and Matmid is 160k

Yup. Even with Alaska's new chart it's 75K.
Any other sweet spots?

Seems that they are all priced the same. Japan, Thailand.
LY hasn't resumed flights to Hong Kong / Beijing but at 70k direct it would definitely be attractive.

Yes.
Dans Deals is brand new. I think Dan/Benny is Kenny Rosenberg's son. The twin of the one who owns Elal
