Does anyone know about Elal's support for people with disabilities?

We are trying to get a passport renewed for a possible companion, but if that does not go through/ isn't feasible, what are our options?
She called and was told they don't offer anything.
She would be flying from FLL and is visually and hearing impaired (would have trouble hearing announcements and navigating to gate),

realistically another passenger might be able to help her but we are not interested in just winging it.
Anyone have experience with a similar situation?

TIA in advance, Tizku lemitzvos.

Not clear from how it is written
What it is supposed to say is the comply with DOT rules regarding disabilities
Assistance in the airport is provided by the ground service provider assuming the airline is notified info at the link above
In TLV they are generally pretty good about these things

She can request a wheelchair when she makes the reservation (ie, can't just show up at the airport and ask for it).  My mother has mobility issues, and has been doing this for years.  Whoever drives her to the airport goes to the desk and asks for a wheelchair, and a wheelchair assistant brings a wheelchair to the car, checks her reservation, carries her bags to check-in, takes her and her carry-on through security, and deposits her at the gate.  She might sit there for a few hours, and then shortly before boarding, the assistant returns and brings her up the jetway to the door of the plane for early boarding.  From there, she can make her way to her seat.  When she arrives in Israel, a wheelchair meets her at the door of the plane and brings her through passport control and to the baggage claim (where family meets her).

Of course, most people using this service are elderly people who can't walk long distances, or younger people with a broken leg, but if her disability makes it difficult for her to get around, it might be appropriate.

Once, we were able to find her a travel companion by asking around and putting notices in various places.  A lovely older couple answered, and we went to meet them a couple days before the flight.  They were happy to check in with her while waiting at the gate and on the plane to see if she might need anything, so you might try something like this.

This is from DoT
"If a passenger has a disability but the wheelchair service does not assist with the passenger’s disability, the carrier may propose other assistance services to support the passenger with his or her needs (e.g., a passenger who has difficulty walking long distances but is able to climb up and down stairs may be provided assistance to the gate through the use of a cart instead of a wheelchair, a passenger who is blind or low vision and needs wayfinding assistance should be provided guide assistance and not wheelchair service)."
https://www.transportation.gov/individuals/aviation-consumer-protection/wheelchair-and-guided-assistance

So maybe she should call ElAl again and ask specifically what kind of guide assistance they provide.

And this from FLL airport, may be interesting if she's tech-savvy:

"The Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport (FLL) offers complimentary access to Aira, a visual interpreting service for the blind or sight-impaired. Airport guests that are blind or have low vision can take advantage of this service to help create a more independent and accessible airport experience.

With the free Aira mobile app, live trained agents provide real-time instructions and information to visually impaired travelers. The app connects to the user's cellphone camera, which streams video to an agent's computer dashboard so they can assist through reading and explaining the individual's environment. The agent can also access to GPS, Google Maps, and ride-share services. With Aira, a traveler can adapt to changes quickly, such as a gate change, while also enhancing wait time by directing users to specific amenities or available seating. "

Isn't being offered on either site that I have seen
As an agent I have booked multiple travelers on it (ex TLV) and it is ticketed on LY

Rebooking responsibility is on the ticketing airline (in this case LY) if VS can not resolve it directly (no seats on the next flight etc) however since they are not the ones selling it they will push you to the OTA /agent who sold it if their are any major issues

Why don't you buy a ticket and refund it?

Very hard to refund after check-in.
And then exiting security in Israel..

I don't know about exiting security in Israel, But there is no issue to refund a ticket after check in, You can always cancel check-in. any Agent can do it for you.

Security is half the issue
You also pass immigration

It's complicated
Need to find an airline agent who will call someone who will escort around and question that it is a valid reason
They are scared you snuck something through them passed/put in someone else's bag

A while back I was on a group reservation with several travelers
For whatever reason I decided to not use the return and the stubborn travel agent wanted money to cancel the flight so I decided to no show
Apparently they checked in the entire reservation (my passport info was on file from the outbound)
I received 2 different phone calls/grillings before they let the flight take off
1 of how passed security and immigration without scanning my passport
2 20 questions if snuck anything in anyone's bag etc as apparently they had a checked bag assigned to me

Don't know if was related but the next time I traveled I received SSSS on my boarding pass
